Today I am proud of my friend that believes that art can change the world. That is why he creates sustainable art with a message by reusing and recycling materials that otherwise would end up in landfills.
He believes that sustainability matters more than ever, that is crucial and that our future depends on it.
He also believes in beauty and that we can all be change agents for a better, sustainable, environmentally-friendly and beautiful world. As Davit says in his article Beyond Beauty:
”I believe it is more important than ever to spark the interest among people at all levels of society in safeguarding the environment for future generations.”
This applies to the yellow church in Bollstabruk as well. It needs safeguarding for future generation and it can offer us so much as a society. I know it will take more than a brushstroke but it is by all means a doable project.
However, we have the possibility to create something that holds substance and quality for future generations. A place to meet, learn, enjoy and work. The possibilities are endless. It’s all about connecting the lines to the big picture.
None of us can do everything, but everyone can do something.
Every step is progress – just as Davit glues every bead on his chameleon sculptures or paints his Birdies, step-by-step the yellow church can become the most fabulous landmark and attraction of Bollstabruk.
